He joined in 2010 and, since then, his life has been closely linked to the production area. He’s worked in practically every corner of it, always with the same great attitude.
He especially values being able to work close to home — just next door — as he’s a neighbor of Elciego, surrounded by people he feels are his own. Because beyond colleagues, at Muriel he’s found friends with whom he’s shared many hours of work — and the occasional beer; not wine, because, as he likes to say, “wine, just a little for me.”
A sports lover, he spent years as an enthusiastic paddle player, although he admits he doesn’t quite have the same pace as before. Now he prefers to enjoy things more calmly: his wife, Josune, his mother — who at 90 still tends to her garden — and those simple moments he treasures so much.
Now, as he’s about to retire, he knows exactly how he wants to spend this new chapter: dedicating himself to what he loves most — the countryside, his family, and his hobbies, like welding, which has always fascinated him.
Rafa embodies that blend of humility, craftsmanship, and authenticity that defines Muriel. Because people like him are the ones who make it possible for us to keep building, every day, something more than a winery: a family.
Thank you, Rafa, for being part of our story. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement.
