At Muriel, there are stories that never appear on the labels, yet they help explain who we are. José Luis’ story is one of them: a journey built on hard work, family, and a coincidence that, over time, turned out to be the perfect fit.
He has been part of the company for 10 years — “heading towards year 11,” as he likes to say — working in Production and Purchasing. It’s a role where no two days are ever the same: from new projects to unexpected challenges, there is always something new to tackle. That’s precisely what he values most: the complete absence of routine and the trust that defines the day-to-day work of the team.
His connection to wine began long before Muriel, helping his father-in-law with harvests, pruning and vineyard work. He later worked in other industries, but Muriel was his first experience in a winery — an environment that, as he says, is driven by a passion that is truly contagious.
There’s one story that perfectly sums up how life sometimes comes full circle. While walking through Laguardia one day, his wife looked at the winery and said, “What a beautiful winery... can you imagine working there?” A few years later, not only does he work at Muriel, but he also shares the experience with her as colleagues.
Outside of work, his priorities are simple: sport, a good barbecue with friends, family and travelling. No unnecessary complications — just the things that matter most, kept in balance.
Getting to know José Luis is also a way of understanding how we work at Bodegas Muriel.
His story is part of our story.
